That maybe not a big deal when everything works as it should but when things don’t and you’re having difficulties using the new version, it becomes impossible to go back. What would you like to see changed in Quicken 2017?What would you like to see changed, improved or added in the 2017 release of Quicken software? Leave your thoughts in the comments below! The color scheme pretty much sucks, nothing else explains it.I like Quicken for what it is and does, and have used it pretty much since its conception, even the early versions were nice to look at GUI wise. You’d have thought more emphasis would have been placed on, or looked at, by a new owner, just due to all the hell that Windows 8 caused coming from Windows 7, same sort of issue.I was also looking at the calendar, why couldn’t the “current date” be highlighted better? or be able to pick a background color for it? Also I would like to set the color of my income and bills in upcoming events, like maybe red for upcoming bills and green for upcoming income. And those menu icons should be in color, makes them easier to locate and identifyI once asked why I can’t set the font, not just select “use large font”, that just makes the whole thing too big, all I wanted to do was make the wording a bit larger, but was told that only selecting “use large font” was available.Making a financial program usable as far as finance related items is one thing, but people also want to have what they use look like something they have a need to use.Updates are nothing new to software, and all these things can be fixed down the road to make Quicken what it should be, even MS has re done Windows to make W10 a much better looking OS than 8 was, all it took was “consumer input”.One last thought while I’m here, why can’t the Tax Manager be updated on a yearly basis without having to buy a full new program every year? ReplyQuicken is not at Dead-End as per feature wise. Stop replacing previous versions – If you’re upgrading from an older version of Quicken to the newest one, the old version is replaced with the new one and all your files are converted to the new format. And worst of all, product support is only available for free for those running the current/newest version (year) of the software so if you have a version from last year or older then you’ll need to pay if you want any assistance from them. There is also no technical support available on weekends when many of us tend to use Quicken. I feel that there are real “genuine value addition” features that Quicken can add to the desktop version to make it extremely more powerful than what it already is. ReplyI am writing same comments from past couple of years and hope that one day Quicken will implement these or some other software will come along with everything in Quicken plus these features.Based on my observations from past few years, Quicken DESKTOP RELEASES (I am not talking of the mobile apps which are very much welcome but only for the desktop versions) has not been very aggressive in coming up with new features in new versions and it is mostly a cosmetic exercise for the desktop version at least. When I logged in to my Bank Of America checking account, I can click on each transaction and click to view the both sides of scanned image of the check that I written Pay To, unfortunately, Quicken does not offer this feature.Would it be cool and convenient that user can open Quicken and see images of the check/s that you have written back few years ago with just few clicks? If Intuit discontinues Quicken and if other company does offer such feature I would buy right a way. ![]() ![]()
